Qualifications:

Certified Applicants must hold a current NC Teaching License in the area in which they are applying. 

Lateral Entry Program Qualifications:

Applicants interested in being hired as a lateral entry teacher should comply with the NC Department of Public Instruction's qualifications.  These can be viewed at the following website:

Compensation:

Certified Teacher's Salary is based on the State Salary Schedule plus a 6% local teacher supplement, and state and local employees' benefits package unless otherwise stated.  Classified employees receive compensation based on the State Salary Schedule plus a local supplement, state and local employees' benefits package unless otherwise stated.

Substitute Teacher Application Procedure

Substitute teacher applications are not done using the DPI online application but can be picked up at any school in Pender County. The applicants must meet with a Principal and the application must be signed by the Principal to be considered for approval. Applicants are not approved to work until all paperwork is turned in to Human Resources, approved by the Director of Human Resources, and an approval letter sent to the applicant.

We are not accepting substitute applications at this time.
